CCTV Policy

We use CCTV at Vitality Dental Care to keep our patients, staff and premises safe and secure.

Who is responsible

CCTV is operated by the management of Vitality Dental Care, who are the data controller for the recordings.

Where cameras are used

Cameras operate throughout the practice, including entrances, reception, waiting areas and corridors. There are no cameras in toilets. Signs are displayed so you know CCTV is in use.

Why we use it

To prevent and detect crime, protect our staff and patients, and support the investigation of incidents. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests under UK GDPR.

How long we keep recordings

Recordings are kept for no longer than 1 month, unless footage is needed to investigate an incident. It is then kept only for as long as it is needed.

Who can see it

Only authorised practice management can view recordings. We may share footage with the police or other authorities where the law allows.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of footage of you by emailing beevitality@outlook.com. Please include the date, time and location. We will respond within 1 month.

If you are unhappy with how we use CCTV, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
